Rosie O'Donnell has had more than a few over-the-airwaves feuds over the years, and on Tuesday morning she added another celeb battle to her resume when she bashed the casting of troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan as the iconic Elizabeth Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime TV movie "Liz and Dick."

"I feel very sorry for her. I think she needs a lot of help. She needs a lot of time away," O'Donnell said while participating in a panel on the "Today" show.
When host Matt Lauer asked if giving Lindsay the role was a good idea, 50-year-old O'Donnell didn't mince words. "No. Because she's had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including 'SNL.' She was out and not at rehearsal and I think she's not in a place to work."
Fellow panelist Danny Deutsch, meanwhile, called the casting a "great idea" and Lohan "our generation's Elizabeth Taylor." O'Donnell snapped back with "Ha! You're out of your mind! You're a crackhead. The last thing she did good, she was 16," later adding, "I don't think she's right for the role and I don't think she's capable at this point of doing what's needed to portray that character."

Not surprisingly, Lindsay's always-looking-to-get-in-the-spotlight father, Michael Lohan, has used the opportunity to, yes, get his name in the press. "Who the hell is Rosie O'Donnell to judge anyone, especially Lindsay, who has far more talent than Rosie ever had?" he told TMZ later in the day. "Lindsay's talent isn't limited to being a comedian or getting notoriety for adopting and raising a bunch of kids. Sure, [Lindsay] has her pitfalls, but she is 25, and how old is Rosie?"
The elder Lohan continued the battle on Twitter. "@Rosie that's YOUR opinion and UR entitled, but to slam her on national TV is/was wrong," he wrote. "Remember how YOU felt! Ie: Donald for starts."
Never one to let someone else to get in the last word, O'Donnell responded with her own tweet, "@MichaelJLohan - she needs help - nobody around her seems to get that - it's tragic what has become of her life - work isn't gonna fix her"
As for Michael Lohan's "Donald" reference, he's of course talking about Donald Trump. O'Donnell and Trump began a feud at the end of 2006 when O'Donnell — then a co-host on "The View — questioned his morality thanks to his affairs and children with multiple wives, calling him a "snake-oil saleseman" and flaunting the fact he went bankrupt. Trump fired back and five years later, hasn't stopped, recently calling 'O'Donnell a "total failure" after her new show on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network was canceled a few months ago.
O'Donnell has also famously battled "View" counterpart Elisabeth Hasselbeck over politics and was once public enemies with none other than Howard Stern after he and his crew made fun of her for years. But in a rare peace offering, the "king of all media" and the one-time "queen of nice" actually buried the hatchet a few years back and she's now a frequent guest on his show.
Whether O'Donnell and Lohan will be making nice anytime soon, well, we'll wait to hear what Rosie thinks of Lindsay's performance in "Liz and Dick" … but don't hold your breath.
