Obama ads slam Romney on taxes, outsourcing jobs

President Obama is out today with two new ads slamming Mitt Romney's record, charging him with raising taxes and shipping jobs overseas while he was governor of Massachusetts.

"As governor, Mitt Romney did cut taxes on millionaires like himself, but he raised taxes and fees on everybody else," the narrator says in the ad titled "Mosaic."
The ad says Romney implemented over 1,000 fee hikes on such things as health care, school bus rides, nurses, hospitals, funeral homes. "Romney economics didn't work then," the narrator says. "It won't work now."

In the second ad, titled "Come and Go," the Obama campaign combines the attack on Romney's record as governor with another on his days leading Bain Capital, a private equity firm. The spot calls Romney a "corporate raider" who "shipped jobs to China and Mexico" and for "outsourcing state jobs to India" while governor.

The Romney campaign has said that attacks by the Obama campaign are meant to distract voters from the president's own job creation record. We've asked for new comment on the latest round of ads.

CNN reports these new Obama ads will run in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, Iowa, Colorado and Nevada.
