Kentucky Derby 2012: Post Positions, Time, TV Coverage And More
The 138th running of the Kentucky Derby is finally here. The post positions and odds have been set, the jockeys have picked out their colorful outfits and plenty of abnormally large hats have been purchased. The favorite to win the historic race on Saturday afternoon? Bodemeister, who has been given 4/1 odds to take home the crown. Union Rags is not far behind, coming in at 9/2 as of late Friday evening.
Here is a complete rundown of what you'll need to get ready for the 2012 Kentucky Derby.
Start Time: The race is set for 6:24 p.m. ET, although there will be plenty of pre-race coverage televised all day. That's 3:24 on the west coast.
TV Schedule: NBC will air the race live, and will have both pre- and post-race coverage. NBC Sports Network will also recap the race once it is complete.

Weather Forecast: Rain showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout Friday night and into Saturday morning. The forecast currently projects a 40% chance of isolated storms throughout most of the day, although the radar does not look too intimidating as of right now. Expect the track to be a bit sloppy, but not so much that it has a huge impact on the race.
