Cuba Gooding Jr. is wanted by New Orleans police after an incident at a bar early Tuesday morning. The Academy Award winner allegedly pushed a female bartender twice at a French Quarter establishment.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the New Orleans police department issued a battery arrest
warrant for Gooding on Tuesday after the alleged confrontation on Bourbon Street occurred at about 3 a.m., officials confirm.
Officials said in a statement that according to the female bartender, Gooding, 44, entered the bar with a group and that shortly thereafter a bunch of customers recognized him and started asking him to take photos and sign autographs. The bartender claimed the actor, who apparently just wanted a lowkey night out, "soon became very aggravated with them."
But when the bartender approached Gooding to ask him to settle down, he gave her an open-hand push, she told police. At that point one of her coworkers called 911, police said.
The bartender says she warned Gooding that police were on the way and told him he needed to go. Police said Gooding then pushed her again and left the bar.
Gooding has been in New Orleans filming his upcoming movie The Butler, a drama about a White House butler who served eight American presidents
